Since 2015, China's healthcare reform has entered its most critical stage. Being one of the key areas of healthcare reform, public hospital reform is particularly eye-catching, as it not only affects healthcare service practitioners but also involves all stakeholders including pharmaceutical companies, distributors, public and private insurance agencies, and eventually the patients.  

New policies like zero-profit drug sale in public hospitals, centralized and group procurement, hierarchical hospital management, diagnosis related groups (DRGs), among others are all aiming for reshaping the current public hospital system into a more efficient one.
